SOUTHWEST HARBOR — The importance of Maine and Mount Desert Island’s resilient carnivore, the coyote, will be the subject of a talk by wildlife biologist Geri Vistein at Southwest Harbor Public Library on Tuesday evening, Sept. 17, at 5:30 p.m.
“Coyotyl,” was the name given to the coyote by the ancient Aztecs. It means “the trickster.” The Coyote is America’s native wild dog, living nowhere else on the planet but North and Central America.
