Cherryfield Days celebration starts Friday



CHERRYFIELD — The town’s annual festival, Cherryfield Days, is set for June 21-23. The theme this year is Christmas Downeast.

Friday’s events, beginning at 5 p.m., include a kiddie parade along Main Street and a concert by the Cherryfield Band.

Saturday’s events run all day, starting at 7:30 a.m. with registration for the David and Donna Smith Salmon Run and ending with fireworks at 9:15 p.m. at the Cherryfield Elementary School ball field.

Other events scheduled throughout the day include a book sale, yard sale, parade and a car show. Area residents are also invited to participate in a Christmas Follies event at Cherryfield Elementary School at 6:30 p.m. that will include singing and skits.

A dog show at The Ark Animal Shelter is set for Sunday at 1:30.

In the event of heavy rain or lightning, most events will be rescheduled for Sunday, June 23.
