ELLSWORTH — The Grand, Ellsworth’s 1938 Art Deco theater, and the Blue Hill Fair will showcase talented Mainers competing to enter “Does Hancock County Have Talent?” kicking off at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at The Grand. Admission is $10 per person.
The first qualifying phase, which is meant to be in good fun, will feature all manner of contestants from singers to jugglers.
Performers will be judged and the top 12 will advance to the “Hancock County’s Got Talent?” competition on Aug. 30 at the Blue Hill Fair. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three talented performers at the fair. The top winner will receive $500 while second place garners $250 and third place $100.
The contest is open to ages 10 and up. Professional performers (contracted musicians or those whose talent is a main source of income) are not permitted to enter.
