Bagaduce Chorale Debuts Work Dedicated to Founder

BLUE HILL — Light.  The source of life on Earth. Our days defined by periods of light. Our planet roaring around the sun. Darkness falling and the skies transformed into an ocean of stars.

“Earthly Light” is the title of Hancock composer Anna Dembska’s new musical work commissioned to honor the Bagaduce Chorale’s founder, Mary Cheney Gould, and celebrate the 90-member choir’s 35th anniversary. The three-movement vocal piece will be unveiled at the chorale’s annual fall concert being held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, and at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Blue Hill Congregational Church atop Tenney Hill.
