195th Army Band to perform free concert June 21, 2018 on Entertainment, Lifestyle ELLSWORTH — The 195th Army Band will perform a free concert on Friday, July 6, at 7:30 p.m. at The Grand. The band, which is based in Bangor, has a performance repertoire ranging from military marches to significant wind band works. Band members also perform compositions by area composers. The concert band maintains an active performance schedule, playing around the state at numerous military and civilian functions. The band is made up of 35 musicians who come from various backgrounds and hometowns across Maine and New Hampshire. The 195th commander, Chief Warrant Officer Brady Harris, is the director of bands at Brewer High School. The top enlisted soldier, First Sgt. Tony Cyrus of Glenburn, is a retired music teacher who taught in Maine and New Hampshire. He now works part time for the U.S. Postal Service. Find a coupon for free tickets in The Ellsworth American.
