The next big gifting season is approaching. You know, graduations, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, baby showers, wedding showers, weddings. It’s really endless.
So, we were happy to stumble upon Huckleberries Card and Gift Shop at 81 Main Street in Bucksport.
Diane Stimpson, who owns the shop with her husband, Lee, said they strive to carry “unique” items.
The shop is full of gifts from White Mountain puzzles to jewelry to Stonewall Kitchen gourmet food products to Yankee candles.
Stimpson recommends Stonewall Kitchen gifts for anyone over the age of 60. “We have everything we need,” she said. But, everyone eats.
The shop also has a vast assortment of Ann Clark cookie cutters. We found a bunny cookie cutter just in time for Easter.
We were especially taken with jewelry by Seasons of Maine, a line made by Limington jeweler Amy Richardson.
Richardson encapsulates Maine flowers, leaves and sand in earrings and pendants.
Stimpson also carries a line of key chains and cuff bracelets, which feature maps of Bucksport.
The shopkeeper said the key rings are a popular gift for graduates, especially Maine Maritime Academy moms.
Huckleberries is also a source for Jane Arey’s fiber necklaces, those are the ones that were featured in the swag bags at the Golden Globe Awards a few years ago.
The shop is open Wednesday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 207-702-9352.
Giveaway time: we are giving away a pair of Seasons of Maine earrings from the Winter Collection featuring pine needles. To enter, email [email protected] with “ear” in the memo line. Or call 667-2576 and ask for Jennifer.
