We have two wedding showers in May and only one couple has registered for gifts. So, we stopped at The Meadow of Blue Hill, 140 Main St., which has gifts for every occasion.
Karen Brandenburg owns the shop, as well as its sister store in Belfast, with her husband, David Caplan.
Brandenburg, herself, has a gift for elevating the art of gift-giving. She also can wrap gifts way better than you can. The shop ships daily via UPS.
We fell in love with a ceramic serving platter emblazoned with an ampersand in the middle. Use a permanent marker to personalize the platter with the couple’s initials and/or wishes from the bridal party. Then bake in a 350 degree F oven to set.
The Meadow also has recycled aluminum, food-safe serving platters, which can be engraved with a name or a saying. There are recycled aluminum frames, which can be personalized.
The shop carries maple leaf cutting boards, which can be personalized. She has a few already in shop that say “Mr & Mrs.”
We fell in love with a set of handmade pewter heart-shaped measuring spoons, which are held together with a twisted copper ring. Brandenburg has had her set for 15 years.
The Meadow has mixing bowls inscripted with “Bake the World a Batter Place” along the inside rim. The bowl comes with a spatula that says “batter up.”
We found tea towels printed with “Mr & Mrs” and “From This Day Forward.”
