Generous people spill their fashion sources. We compare it to that saying, “A rising tide lifts all boats,” only for outfits.
So, when we were admiring Ellsworth resident Jeni Webber’s pink cardigan, she told us to get to Marden’s, where she’d found the cardigan for a song.
We did go to Marden’s and we got lost in rack upon rack of clothing, much of it quality, name brand pants, tops and skirts. Lots of pieces are tagged with an extra 33 percent off.
We found two asymmetrical cotton capes in navy and coral for $2 apiece. We will wear them with denim.
We also found a pale pink Talbot’s cardigan similar to Webber’s for $9.99 but alas, it was too small.
There were Ellen Tracy long-sleeve T-shirts for $8.88 plus 33 percent off.
We found lots and lots of pants, from Calvin Klein yoga pants to Kim Rogers Jacquard print pants, suitable for happy hour.
Marden’s has prom dresses in stock again, too, as well as fancy gowns that a second or third time bride might wear. All the dresses are $49.99.
Men are represented too. The day we went, we found Columbia short-sleeve button-down shirts for $20.99 in a range of blue hues and sizes from medium to extra large. There also were long-sleeve Columbia T-shirts for $20.99.
