Hancock County girls have two upcoming occasions for fancy dress.

Easter is Sunday, April 1.

The Ellsworth Lioness Club’s annual Father-Daughter dance is Saturday, April 14. This year’s theme is a red carpet premiere.

In downtown Ellsworth, Ruth Foster’s boasts a dress for every taste. Most are around $62.50. You can also buy dance tickets at Ruth’s. The dance is for girls from kindergarten to sixth grade and their dads.

We were partial to a white sleeveless number, which featured a black bow at the waist and a black floral appliqué at the hem. Foster also likes that dress. She noted that the dress has a satin slip underneath a tulle crinoline to keep legs from getting itchy.

The shop also has a sleeveless pink taffeta with big pink and white polka dots. That dress also comes in yellow.

Continuing with pink, there was another fetching dress with horizontal hot pink stripes. We found a teal dress featuring black accents, also for $62.50.

There are dresses in virtually every hue on the color wheel in sizes 5 through 14.

If you’re thinking Easter baskets, Ruth has soft, squishable stuffed bunny rabbits. She also has rabbits and toys from the “Peter Rabbit” movie.
