Stonington Gallery Tour to Feature Owl Stool

STONINGTON — For the first Friday Stonington Galleries tour on July 3, Geoffrey Warner Studio will be introducing the Owl stool, the first of his new line of affordable furniture.

In response to the current challenging economy, Warner is offering the stools as finished pieces as well as unfinished kits at a reduced price. Customers can choose from three different heights and an assortment of woods.

While it maintains his trademark quality and graceful line, the Owl also provides specific postural support as a result of consultation with a chiropractor during the design process. After designing it Warner noticed how the functional form of the stool bore a striking resemblance to an owl’s face and decided to call it the Owl.

This season the studio is producing a variety of small tables, also available in kit form, that highlight the form and beauty of the natural wood at an attractive price.

Warner will be offering Saturday morning workshops to teach customers how to assemble and finish the stools and tables.

The July 3 gallery tour runs from 4 to 7 p.m. and visitors will be treated to live music by the Sheep Island Rovers as well a demonstration in Warner’s workshop.

Regular gallery hours are Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by chance or appointment.

The studio/gallery is located on Route 15 just before Stonington village.
