BLUE HILL — In its 20th year, the 10 x 8 artist group will stage its annual small works exhibit starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Emlen Hall on The Bay School campus in Blue Hill. The featured artists will be: painters Louise Bourne, Kristy Cunnane, Heidi Daub, Rebecca McCall, Gail Page and Cynthia Winings. Included, too, will be ceramics by Melissa Greene and diminutive bronzes by Goody-B-Wiseman. All works cost $150 apiece.
Started 20 years ago, the “10 x 8” show/sale began as a three-day event held at a former restaurant/shop called Frankie’s in Ellsworth. Inspired by a similar 10 x 10 show in Portland, the “8 x 10” show’s premise is to make artwork available at an affordable price for local residents. It is now a one-day sale with the size varying up to 100 square inches.
At the designated start time (9:30 a.m. preview, 10 a.m. sale), the works will be sold on a “first-come-first-serve” basis.
The events will include live music and refreshments.
