“Castine has such a wealth of beautiful landscapes, magnificent architecture and charming street scenes that one could paint here a lifetime and never feel they have run out of great things to paint.” Those are the words of Castine painter Dan Graziano whose plein-air oils will be featured with the work of varied local artists and artisans from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Castine Historical Society.

The Castine Historical Society is sponsoring the art show and sale held in the lower level (Mitchell Room) of the Abbott School on the Castine Town Common. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the society.

An opening reception will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, at the society. For more info, call 326-4118 and visit www.castinehistoricalsociety.org.
