BUCKSPORT — The Bucksport Garden Club will hold its annual plant, bake and book sale on Saturday, May 30, at 9 a.m. at Bangor Savings Bank on Main Street.
On Wednesday, July 8, the Garden Club will host Lee Schneller Sligh of South Thomaston, whose book, “The Ever-Blooming Flower Garden: A Blueprint for Continuous Color,” was published in March. Sligh has developed a unique garden design system and will join the Garden Club at 10 a.m. at The Alamo Theatre to share her technique with the public. There will be an auction and refreshments. Contact Paula Kee at 469-3507 to RSVP.
Sligh will join Andy Lacher at BookStacks on Main Street at 1 p.m. for a book signing. Merchants and restaurants will offer special discounts throughout the day, including box lunches by MacLeod’s Restaurant for sale at the waterfront. The day will celebrate summer, the Bucksport downtown and improvements to Main Street and the waterfront.
