Born and raised on Deer Isle, folk musician Amy Friedell will open Opera House Arts’ “Live in the Lobby” concert series at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7. A 2018 Deer Isle-Stonington High School graduate, Friedell studied music at Sarah Lawrence College. Of late, she has been working as a sternman aboard a local lobster fishing boat.
That experience, working class values and the struggles and victories of the Deer Isle community are the inspiration for “Work Songs,” which she will perform. Admission is free. A $10 donation is suggested. Wine, beer and other refreshments will be available in the café. For more info, call 367-2788, email [email protected] |and visit operahousearts.org.
