Patriots’ 2017 regular season schedule announced April 21, 2017 on Football, Sports ELLSWORTH — The NFL released its full 2017 schedule Thursday night, and the New England Patriots are set to open their title defense when they host the NFL Kickoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 7 on NBC. The game marks the 14th consecutive year that the league’s Thursday night opener will involve the winner of the previous year’s Super Bowl. It marks the fourth time New England has hosted the game; the Patriots also did so in 2004, 2005, and 2015. Other games of interest include a Super Bowl LI rematch against the Atlanta Falcons on Oct. 22 and a brutal stretch between Week 10 and Week 15 that will see the Patriots will play five of six games away from Gillette Stadium.
