ELLSWORTH — Ellsworth placed second of 10 teams with 126.6 points at Saturday’s Big East Cheering Competition at Ellsworth High School.

Hermon took first with 132 points, and Hampden placed third with 115.4.

“We felt our girls had a great performance,” Ellsworth coach Melanie Fox said. “There is still a margin for a little improvement, and we’re looking forward to a successful season.”

Ellsworth cheerleaders include Morgan Barkhouse, Emma Sweeney, Maddy Harmon, Kayla Perry, Victoria Page-Jackson, Emily Young, Maya McCabe, Sierra Firley, Chantal Ouellette, Lindsay Bland, Emily Bridges-Myrick, Kailee Kimball, Molly McCarthy, Hailey McCabe, Piper Hardison and coaches Fox and Kathryn Dickens.
