Mariners Routed at Colby-Sawyer



NEW LONDON, N.H. – Senior Will Bardaglio (Wayne) made six three pointers and became Colby-Sawyer’s all-time leader in three-pointers with 313 in the Chargers’ 108-51 win over Maine Maritime.

The Chargers improve to 16-7 overall and 13-3 in the North Atlantic Conference. Maine Maritime drops to 2-19 overall and 1-14 in conference play.

Bardaglio passed Colby-Sawyer great and Athletics Hall of Famer, Jim Durrell ’94, who was in attendance at today’s game as the Chargers celebrated alumni day. Durrell made 309 career treys and was the first Charger to reach 1,000 career points. He finished with 1,548 and ranks sixth on the all-time list.

Junior Paul Holland (England, UK) led Colby-Sawyer with 24 points on 8-11 shooting from beyond the arc. Bardaglio, who moved into seventh on the all-time scoring list with 1,338, finished with 18 points in 14 minutes. Freshman Mike Dias (Carver, Mass.) added 16 points in 16 minutes on 7-9 shooting. Junior Corey Willis (Easton, Mass) had eight assists and moved into seventh on the all-time list with 340 for his career.  Sophomore Stephen Thorpe (Chicago, Ill.) contributed four points, six assists and a career-high seven steals.

Maine Maritime’s Andy Ball (Hermon) led all scorers with 28 points. He also grabbed a team-high six-rebounds.  

Senior Dan Pendergast (Canton, Mass.) connected on a three-pointer late in the game to give Colby-Sawyer 18 three-pointers in the game, which set a new team single game record. The team went 18-37 from beyond the arc.

Maine Maritime plays at Thomas on Tuesday at 7:30 pm.
