Families First Community Center to benefit from Hannaford bag program

ELLSWORTH — Families First Community Center, a nonprofit committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness by equipping families with minor children with the skills they need to gain self-sufficiency, has been selected as a beneficiary of the Hannaford Cause Bag program.

This program has been designed to support local nonprofits such as Families First Community Center.

For every Hannaford Helps reusable bag with the good karma message purchased at the Hannaford located in Ellsworth, Families First Community Center will receive a $1 donation in order to help fulfill its mission of helping homeless families stop the cycle of generational poverty.

“We are thrilled to be named Hannaford’s Cause Bag program Beneficiary of the month and are hoping to raise $500,” said Families First Community Center Board President Dawn Coffin.

Families First Community Center has a goal of raising $500 during March, which is equivalent to 500 bags bought in support of Families First Community Center. Plans for the projected funds include repairs and adaptations to the center’s Transitional Home.
