Ellsworth woman’s weight loss leads to TV appearance

“It’s been crazy fast,” said Beth Alteri, who is editor for fenceviewer.com. “It was amazing, though.”

Alteri, 29, got a tip last week that the CBS daytime talk show was looking for viewers who had lost over 100 pounds. She emailed the show’s producers last Wednesday, April 2. They called Alteri that evening to see if she would go on the show.

A production crew came to Ellsworth Saturday to shoot segments of Alteri and her husband, Philip, at home as well as shots of Alteri working out at the YMCA.

The couple flew to New York Monday, where Alteri went shopping with a show producer for a dress for her appearance and had a makeover at the Cutler Salon from stylist Kyan Douglas.

Alteri and her husband appeared on a taping for “The Rachael Ray Show” Tuesday morning and flew back to Maine that evening.
