ORLAND — The owner of the new Acadia Highway Market aims to please.

“Our whole concept is really to cater to our neighbors in the local area,” said Gabriella Eon.

The convenience store and eatery opened July 24. The adjacent redemption center has been open since December.

The store was formerly Soper’s Market.

Eon said much is still the same.

There is a selection of convenience and snack foods, magazines, sodas, juice and beer. A small dining area serves up pizza, sandwiches, burgers and breakfast items.

Customers can call in take-out orders in advance or come in and eat at one of several tables.

Eon and Store Manager Dale Howard said they are listening to customers as they decide what to stock in the store.

“So when they run short of something they can just run in here,” Eon explained.

Howard said the most frequent request is for gas.

He said the pumps in front of the store are in the process of being inspected and he hopes to begin fuel sales next month.
