    Sam Alvarado wins Islesboro Crossing

    ISLESBORO — Sam Alvarado of Lamoine won the third annual Islesboro Crossing for LifeFlight swim on Saturday. Eighty swimmers participated in the 3.1-mile swim from Lincolnville to Islesboro — a fundraiser for LifeFlight of Maine. Each swimmer raised pledge support. Alvarado finished the swim first in one hour and 10 minutes. He raised $350 for LifeFlight.
